COVID-19 Guidelines and Information
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FAZ Creative Education Learning Center has revised our business operations according to local, state and federal recommendations. Our goal is to operate our center’s normal schedule of activities according to new safety and hygiene guidance, without negatively impacting children and families or to the educators that serve them. The safety and health of the children, families, and staff are at the forefront of all that we do.
Below are some of the many practices we changed to during our opening:
- Touch-less temperature checks for all children and staff, upon arrival.
- COVID-19 symptomatic response procedures (isolation, notification, etc.).
- Spraying disinfectant on shoes and belongings of children and staff, upon arrival.
- Using our main door to drop off children and their belongings.
Require parents/guardians to wait in the lobby/reception area during departure. - Ensuring everyone disinfects their hands when they enter the building.
- Following Fairfax County Office for Children adult to child ratios.
- Posted signs to remind visitors, staff, and children about hygiene and safety.
- Ensuring our staff complete our COVID-19 policy and procedures training.
- Ensuring our staff change into their smocks before entering their rooms.
- Encouraging our staff to wear protective gear (face masks, gloves, etc.).
- Regularly sanitizing water coolers and other commonly used items.
- Keeping updated staff vaccination records on file.
What is a daily health check?
FAZ staff performs a daily health check by observing each child when they enter the facility and by having a short conversation with the parent/guardian to see if they notice anything unusual while the parent/guardian is still present. A daily health check helps FAZ staff establish what is normal or abnormal for each child. It can be repeated periodically throughout the day, as necessary.
As a reminder, please call your healthcare provider and visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website for information if someone in your household develops symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, etc.) or if you have been in contact with someone who has developed COVID-19 symptoms.
